Frequently Asked Questions
Is it possible to use QuikRead CRP kits for QuikRead go?
No, for QuikRead go you can only use QuikRead go CRP kits. QuikRead go requires the bar code on the cuvette, whereas QuikRead 101 uses the magnetic card.
The QuikRead go instrument gives me result >200 mg/l, but I would like to get an exact CRP result. Is that possible?
When using plasma/serum samples you can dilute the sample with 0.9 % NaCl before adding it into the cuvette. Recommended dilution is 1+3. Remember to multiply the result by 4.
I have forgotten one QuikRead go CRP kit into room temperature for a weekend. Can I still use it?
Yes, you can use the kit. The kit can be stored at room temperature (+18…+25 °C) for one month. When used at room temperature only during the working hours (7,5 h) and put into +2…+8 °C after finishing working, the kit is stable for 3 months.
I opened the lid of a cuvette, but I did not use the cuvette immediately. How long is the cuvette usable?
You should use the cuvette within 2 hours from opening.
Why does the upper limit of the measuring range vary in QuikRead go with whole blood samples?
This is because of the automatic haematocrit correction. At haematocrit level, 40%, the QuikRead go CRP has a measurement range of 5-200 mg/l. If sample’s haematocrit level is abnormal and the CRP concentration is very high, the haematocrit corrected CRP result may be below or above 200 mg/l. This causes different upper limits for the measuring range.
